The Hampden County Regional Retirement Board Advisory Council will hold a meeting of the council on Thursday, September 29, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. The meeting will take place at the Hampden County Regional Retirement Board office, 67 Hunt Street, Suite 116, Agawam, MA. The Advisory Council, acting in its capacity as Election Board will meet is to review and approve the Election timetable for the upcoming election of a Member's Representative to the Hampden County Regional Retirement Board.
Oct 2, 2017 - Oct. 16, 2017 - Nomination papers available between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. at the Retirement Board office, Agawam Corporate Center, 67 Hunt Street, Suite 116, Agawam, MA. Papers must be returned by OCTOBER 17, 2017 at 4:00 P.M.
Oct. 30, 2017 - Advisory Board, in its capacity as Election Board, meets to certify the nomination papers and set ballot order. Meeting to take place at the Hampden County Regional Retirement Board office.
Nov. 13, 2017 - Ballots to be mailed out to all retirees, active and inactive members of the Retirement System
Nov. 14, 2017 to Dec. 6, 2017 - Ballots to be returned to the Hampden County Regional Retirement Board office with a postmark return no later than Dec. 3, 2017
Dec. 13, 2017 - Advisory Council, in its capacity as Election Board, to meet at the Hampden County Regional Retirement Board office to count returned ballots and declare a winner.
Nomination papers for the position of Member's Representative to the Hampden County Regional Retirement Board will be available in the Retirement Board office beginning Monday, October 2, 2017. Papers may be picked up between the hours of 9:00 A.M. - 4:00 P. M. Monday through Friday for the period Monday October 2, 2017 to Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Retirement Board office, 67 Hunt Street, Suite 116, Agawam, MA. All papers must be returned to the Retirement Board office by 4:00 P. M. on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. Any active, inactive or retired member of the System may run for the position. This is a three (3) year position beginning January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2020. A memorandum with the Notice of Election has been mailed to each member unit treasurer along with a notice to each town clerk in the System for posting at their location.
The Hampden County Regional Retirement Board is pleased to announce that at its regular monthly meeting held on Tuesday, May 29, 2017 the Board voted to grant a 3% Cost of Living Adjustment on the first $18,000.00 of retirement income for those retirees and beneficiaries of the System who retired on or before June 30, 2016 effective July 1, 2017 payable July 31, 2017. For those retirees and beneficiaries who are receiving $18,000.00 a year or more in a retirement allowance the maximum increase will be $540.00 per year, which is an additional $45.00 per month.
